Milo Toast: The Hot & Cold Dessert You’ll Want to Try in KL

Milo Toast: The Hot & Cold Dessert You’ll Want to Try in KL

There are some desserts you eat because they look good. And then there are desserts where the combination of textures and temperatures makes every bite a little more addictive.

Meet our Milo Toast — a thick, golden toast made with Japanese-style Shokupan bread, soaked in an egg mixture, toasted until soft and fluffy inside with a lightly crisp surface, then coated in fragrant sugar and cinnamon.

And that's just the beginning.

We pair it with creamy soft serve, a rich chocolate-and-Milo flavour, crunchy Milo cereal and a beautifully caramelised banana.

The result?

Soft. Crispy. Creamy. Crunchy. Warm. Cold. Sweet. Chocolatey.

All in one bite.

What Makes Our Milo Toast Different?

It Starts With Shokupan

The foundation of our Milo Toast is Shokupan, a Japanese-style milk bread known for its soft, fluffy and slightly chewy texture.

Instead of simply toasting a slice of bread, we soak the Shokupan in our egg mixture before it hits the heat.

This gives the bread a rich, custardy centre while allowing the outside to develop a delicate crust when toasted.

So you get that satisfying contrast:

slightly crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy in the middle.

Sugar + Cinnamon for That Extra Aroma

Once toasted, the bread is coated with sugar and cinnamon powder.

The cinnamon adds a warm, aromatic note while the sugar gives the toast a subtle sweetness that works beautifully with the chocolate and Milo flavours.

It's familiar, comforting and just a little indulgent.

Then Comes the Milo

Because what's Milo Toast without Milo?

Our toast is paired with Milo and chocolate flavours, bringing that nostalgic malt-chocolate taste that many of us grew up loving.

But we didn't want the Milo experience to be just another powder sprinkled on top.

That's why we added crunchy Milo cereal for texture.

So while the toast is soft and warm, you get that little crunch from the cereal with every bite.

Hot Toast + Cold Soft Serve

And this might be our favourite part.

The freshly toasted Shokupan is served alongside cold, creamy soft serve.

The contrast between the warm toast and cold soft serve is what brings everything together.

Take a bite while the toast is still warm, scoop up some soft serve and get a little Milo crunch and caramelised banana in the same mouthful.

Warm + cold.
Soft + crunchy.
Creamy + crisp.

It shouldn't work this well.

But somehow, it does.

Don't Forget the Caramelised Banana

To finish everything off, we add caramelised banana.

The banana brings a naturally sweet, fruity element that balances the richness of the chocolate, Milo and soft serve.

It also adds another texture — soft and slightly sticky from the caramelisation — making the whole dessert feel more layered rather than simply sweet.

Why Everyone Is Looking for Milo Toast

Milo Toast sits somewhere between French toast, a nostalgic Milo dessert and an indulgent café treat.

It's familiar enough to make you curious, but there's enough going on to make every bite interesting.

And if you're looking for dessert in Kuala Lumpur, something sweet after lunch, or simply a café treat to share with friends, this is one of those dishes that's made to be eaten fresh.

Especially when the toast is warm and the soft serve is cold.
